Summer school free lunch series, events continue

Wayland Union Schools, local businesses and the Henika Library for the third straight summer plan to offer a series of fun, summer events where a free meal will be provided for children ages 18 and under.

Lunch will be served immediately following special events unless otherwise stated. Adults may purchase lunch for $3 and is served free to children. Free lunches will be served Monday through from Friday, June 14, until Aug. 18 (closed July 3-7) at a variety of locations — Steeby Elementary School, Hunters Glen Trailer Park, Sawmill Estates, and Windsor Woods Village.

Besides the free meals, fun, free events will be offered to the community:

• Bob Kanegis, storyteller — Tuesday, June 20 at 10:30 a.m., Steeby Elementary. Free lunch, 11:30 a.m. to noon.
• Cirque Amongus — Wednesday, June 21, at 10:45 a.m., Steeby Elementary. Unicycling, juggling, comedy, magic and more. As seen on “Little Big Shots.” Lunch 11:30 to noon.
