Army Bob insists it’s a newspaper; it’s just on-line

To the editor:Letter to editor_8

In the Army Bob column, I constantly refer to the Townbroadcast as a “newspaper.” I am guilty of that and have no regrets saying it. Several good folks have reminded me how wrong I am, and they are technically correct.

The owner and editor of Townbroadcast is a newspaper man; his body is recycled news print and his blood is distilled printer’s ink. The reality is that the Townbroadcast is a blog, a web site, an e-paper, and a few more acceptable/correct names.

Well quite frankly I don’t give damn. Hopkins, Martin, Moline, Wayland and Dorr need a voice that covers news for us and only for us; no one else will cover a market with 400 or 500 folks like Martin, or the few hundred in Moline, or the 800 wonderful folks in Hopkins, even the thousands in Dorr or Wayland.

So, if you wish to bellyache or grumble because I call our newspaper a newspaper, feel free.

Robert M. Traxler, Dorr
