Winter snowstorm makes some local travel hazardous

Travel was somewhat of a challenge Friday, as the second wave of a winter snowstorm visited West Michigan, dropping between two and four inches of the white stuff. Meanwhile, there was a power outage on Reno Drive when a power line was down behind Harding’s, causing several businesses to be closed for a brief period. The photo shown here is courtesy of Kim Miller Powers traveling on the U.S.-131 expressway, and she commented that conditions were not particularly favorable. There also was a report just before noon that there was  about a five- car pil up heading north on 131 just north of the Dorr exit (No. 68).

  • As much as we enjoy not having to shovel or drive in the stuff, your snow is still beautiful. Be careful driving out there, old friends and neighbors. And build us a snowman!
