Firefighters from Wayland, Yankee Springs and Leighton Township departments were summoned to a structure fire Monday afternoon in the City of Wayland, not far from the Laurels of Sandy Creek nursing center. Hopkins Fire Department moved into the Wayland station and assists were provided by Wayland Area EMS, WCPD, MSP, Allegan and Barry County Central Dispatch Centers. A spokesperson for the Wayland department said, “Best thing that happened, no injuries, everybody came home safe.” (Photo supplied)
