Wayland Public Safety Dept. plans block party Aug. 3

One block north of Superior Street
The Wayland Public Safety Department Block Party will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday Aug. 3, at the City Park.
Activities will include radar clocking for throwing or kicking a ball on the radar gun, free throw tournament for younger folks up to 13 years old in age groups. (Rumor has it that a couple of Wildcat girls’ varsity basketball players will help),
temporary tattoos, stickers, bracelets, pencils, etc., adult chances to win prizes.
Also on hand will be Police SWAT rigs, Police K-9 dogs, fire trucks, ambulances and Harding’s is furnishing hot dogs and ice water.
A deejay will play some tunes. Rumor has it that Andrew from 4-1-2 will be providing the music with the assistance of the Chamber of Commerce sound system.
Parking will be blocked off on the east and north sides of the park for the emergency vehicles the morning of the 3rd, so please do not park where it will be marked or coned off.
