Jenison sweeps doubleheader from Wildcat baseball team

Boys-Baseball-145x100Jenison Tuesday afternoon and evening swept a doubleheader at Wayland to drops the Wildcat’s overall season baseball record to 1-2.

The visiting Wildcats captured a 14-2 verdict in the first game shortened to five innings. They followed up with a 6-0 shutout in the nightcap.

The Wildcats trailed only 2-0 after the first two innings 9in the opener, but a plethora of errors opened the floodgates. Visiting Jenison scored four times i9n the third, six in the fourth and two in the fifth.

Jenison broke a scoreless tie with two runs in the third inning, added one in the fourth and three in the fifth.

The Wildcats, who got a no-hit performance the day before from lefty Zach Brog in a 3-0 victory, will be idle until after spring break is concluded.
