Clippers’ grid semis foe is an undefeated powerhouse

The Clippers sing the school fight song to their fans after victory, a tradition in recent years.

The Martin High School football team will have its work cut out for it in this weekend’s semifinal round of the MHSAA eight-man football playoffs.

The Clippers will travel to Adrian Lenawee Christian Saturday to take on the undefeated host Cougars, who are fresh from a 49-0 thrashing of Morrice in the regional finals. Lenawee Christian earlier this season beat Colon, the only team to get the best of Martin on the field since it switched to the eight-man football format two years ago.

The Clippers themselves are fresh off winning a regional crown after drubbing Marcellus 54-8 to move to 8-1 on the season, with their only defeat a result of a forfeit because of Covid-19.
