Tragedy struck a Moline family for the second time in less than three years with the death of Jon Bednarsky Friday morning.
His daughter, Samantha, found him on the floor of the bathroom. He apparently died of a heart attack at age 54.
His wife, Brenda, died at age 52 in October 2012 of complications of ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. A fund-raising effort dedicated to her was held at a Wayland High School basketball game.
Surviving are his children Jonathon Bednarsky, Samantha Bednarsky; parents Joan and Frank Bednarsky; siblings Fawn (Robert) Cichoski, Frank Bednarsky Jr. (Teri Welker), Amy (Dan) Genther, Tom (Sarah) Bednarsky; the Hibma family members, in-laws Russ (Darla) Hibma, Tari (Tim) Schelhaas, Shari (Jeff) Pepper, Rusty (Joy) Hibma; many nieces, nephews, friends and very close friend Mike Willyard.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, at Cook Funeral Home, 2067 84th Street, Byron CenterI. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 16, at Corinth Reformed Church (Worship Center) 129 100th Street SE, Byron Center, MI. Pastor Scott Nyp will be officiating. Interment will be at Winchester Cemetery.
