Hopkins girls lose 84-29 to perennial powerhouse

Olivia Sebright

The Kent City girls’ basketball team improved its season record to 6-0 Tuesday evening with a resounding 84-29 triumph over Hopkins.

The undefeated Eagles, still a strong outfit after going 22-2 a year ago, didn’t have to put up with a lot of resistance. The visiting Lady Vikings fell to 3-4 with the nonleague defeat.

The Viking boys captured a 56-46 victory over Kent City Tuesday night on their home floor. Hopkins boys now are 4-3 for the season.

Senior forward Olivia Sebright scored nine points and gathered four rebounds to lead Hopkins girls. Sophomore Mady Weber added eight points and five rebounds and Maya Kerber six points.

The Lady Vikings and the boys next will play at NorthPointe Christian Friday.
