Sheryl Visser, age 57, of Moline, died Thursday May 20.
Sheryl worked as a bed maker at Sandy Creek Nursing Home and washed pots, pans, and tables at Burger King. She loved to volunteer, helping “”Aunty Em”” with the toddlers during story time at the Leighton Township Library. Retirement came earlier than expected for Sheryl which was at Rustic Market (affiliated with Pine Rest), where she hung up clothes and received a treat at the end of the day (a favorite of M&Ms).
Sheryl took joy in going to the post office in Moline every day via either her “”stingray”” bike, or walking, except Sunday. She even carried her own “”mail bag””. Sheryl was a “social butterfly” and had many friends and did many things with them.
She also loved her church, Moline Baptist, and attended as much as she could. She was part of the Special Friends Club through Moline Christian Reformed Church.
She participated in multiple events at Special Olympics, enjoying each event. She went to several camps; one summer she went to three different camps
