Can no one stop Clippers on the 8-man football field?

It would be difficult to imagine a better start to a football season.

Martin Saturday crushed Gobles 60-0 to improve its overall season record to 3-0 and now can boast of outscoring its opponents 178-12 thus far.

A couple of quotes: “It ain’t braggin’ if it’s true.” — Muhammed Ali. “We don’t rebuild. We reload.” — Bobby Knight.

Indeed the Clippers have graduated a lot of talent from two teams that didn’t lose on the field in two seasons and went. deep into the playoffs, losing only to the state champions twice.

Martin has enjoyed astounding success since converting to eight-man football.

Junior QB J.R. Hildebrand scored on all three carries he had on the day, leading the team with 130 yards rushing. He now has 10 touchdowns on the ground in just three games.

Junior Karter Ribble added 86 yards on the ground on four carries with two more TDs. Senior Javan Lowe and sophomore Taegan Harris also found the end zone on 27- and 25-yard runs, respectively.

The Clippers at up 382 yards on the ground, bringing their season total to 1,256 in just three games.

Harris led the defense with six tackles, Hildebrand had five, while senior Charlie Martin and junior Tanner Bird chipped in with four apiece. Sophomore Bryce Robinson returned an interception for a touchdown.

Martin will play against Montabella this week in what could be the toughest challenge yet this season.
