The Hopkins varsity volleyball team Thursday night honored four seniors, Ryley Dykstra, Maya Kerber, Avery Roxbury and Sierra Smith and then capped the festive night with a straight set triumph over O-K Silver Conference rival Sparta.
The Lady Vikings prevailed 25-13, 25-7 and 25-18 to improve their league record to 5-1. Their only Silver loss this season came at the hands of NorthPointe Christian.
Individual statistical leaders were:
• Assists – Corrie Wisser 24.
• Kills – Avery Roxbury 11, Mady Weber 7, Kate Cleypool/Corrie Wisser 3, Peyton Roxbury/Ava VanderVeen 2, Maya Kerber 1.
• Blocks – Mady Weber 2, Corrie Wisser/Maya Kerber 1.
• Aces – Corrie Wisser 8, Kate Cleypool 3, Avery Roxbury 2.
• Digs – Avery Roxbury/Ellie Sebright 8, Corrie Wisser 7, Mady Weber/Ryley Dykstra 5, Maya Kerber 4, Kate Cleypool, Sierra Smith/Lyla Reynolds 2.
Hopkins’ overall season record now is 18-11-3.
