Nine WHS singers qualify for Regional Honors Choir

Nine Wayland High School students have been accepted into the Regional Honors Choir after auditions this month.

The nine celebrated singers are Stephen Harnish, Mark Musgrave lll, Aiden Ketchapaw, Christian Chlebana, Ovelia Taylor, Rylee Brown, Destinee Buckner, Nikkolette Harrison and Kaprya Pureifoy (not pictured).

These students prepared a difficult piece, sent in an audition and were chosen by a Michigan SchoolVocal Music Association (MSVMA) district judge. They will audition Tuesday, Dec. 7, at Western Michigan University for a place in the State Honors Choir.

There will be a concert at 3 p.m .performed by all Michigan State Members. This concert is free!

Wayland High School choir members are directed by Ricci Sabin.

  • The concert at Western is at 3:00 on Saturday, December 4th.
    On Tuesday, December 7 is at the HS in the FAC.
