WHS soph wins Olivet arts awards for her drawings

Wayland High School sophomore Olivia Stein recently won two awards in the Olivet Regional Art competition for portraits she drew of her grandparents, Phyllis and Burrell Stein.

She was declared the winner of the Visual Arts Scholarship Award and the Studio Excellence Award.

The Olivet College visual arts program offered the fifth annual Regional High School Student Art Exhibition this fall to support and celebrate area students’ creative work and promote the arts in the greater Olivet College community

High school juniors and seniors from across the region could enter 2D, 3D, ceramics and graphic design artwork to compete for Olivet College talent-based scholarships up to $3,000.
