Richard Lee Mauchmar, age 66, died Saturday, Oct. 8, after his battle with cancer.
Richard was born May 15, 1956, to his parents Lois and Ford Mauchmar.
A loving husband, father, brother and uncle, Richard grew up in Wayland, MI and was a 1974 graduate of Wayland Union High School. He and his twin brother, Randy, owned and operated Mauchmar Body Shop, established by their father, in Leighton Township.
He and his wife, Terri, made their home and raised their daughter at Selkirk Lake. He spent his life enjoying the outdoors, boating, fishing, hunting, playing sports and spending time with family and friends. He and Randy formed a formidable backcourt tandem for the successful 1973-74 Wildcat basketball team coached by the late John Vargo.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years Terri Mauchmar, his daughter Trina Mauchmar, brother Randy (Terry) Mauchmar and sister Vicki (Bruce) Schwartz; his sister and brother in-laws, Sherri (Randy) Mencarelli, Vickie (Randy) Lucchesi, Ronda (Joe) Baxter.
A celebration of life will be held at the Orchard Hills Golf Course and Banquet Facility Saturday Oct. 22.
Memorials may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice of Allegan County.
