Wildcat boys bowl Kenowa Hills close, but no cigar

The Wayland boys had a frustrating afternoon at Westgate Lanes, losing 23-7 to a Kenowa Hills team with whom they were pretty evenly matched.

“It started well, as we took the first baker game, but our second baker score was only 115,” commented coach Sherry Miklusicak. “Obviously we lost that second game an total as well.”

In match one Stephen Harnish took his point with a 170 game and that was the only one taken. Chandler Caruso did roll a 174 game.  wo match points were lost by only one pin each and another by only five pins.

Match two had two points earned by Stephen Harnish 171 and Kyle Vaness. Chandler Caruso rolled a 188 game as well. The Wildcats lost total pins this game by just 20 pins….

The Wildcat ladies, meanwhile won their match 26 to 4. Kenowa Hills had only four ladies. so Wayland was able to win the match by the end of the first game of regular.

“It’s always great to give our new players some varsity time on the lanes the last game,” said coach Eric Bottrall.   

High games were by Haven Baker 124, Izzy Botwinski 132 and Kadence Bottrall 214.

“They will all continue to grow as bowlers with time and experience on the lanes,” concluded the coach.

The Lady Wildcats now own a record of 4-0 overall. The boys are 0-3-1.
