Lady Wildcats begin busy stretch on lanes in win vs. Byron Center

The Lady Wildcats begReverse Wildcat logoan a long stretch of bowling Tuesday with their first of six matches over the next nine days with a solid win over Byron Center 22-8.

Pacing the way for Wayland was sophomore Alicia Sweeney (177-176=353) and junior Lizzy Cobb (171-164=335).

The Lady Wildcats came out and won the first Baker game 143-141.  Byron Center won the second Baker game 146-132 and Baker total 287-275.  Byron Center took a 6-4 lead into the individual games.  Wayland won the first individual game 723-647 and took 8 of 9 points. With a 12-7 lead going into the final game the Lady Wildcats closed things out with a 751-655 win and taking 10 of the last 11 points to cap the 22-8 conference win.

The victory improves the Lady Wildcats’ conference record to 6.5-1.5 and 8.5-2.5 overall.  Next up, another conference home match Thursday vs. Hudsonville Unity Christian.
