JC Wheeler Library representative Alice Kelseyhas announced that the library in Martin will be host for a special solar eclipse party Monday, Aug. 21.
She said the festivities should get under way at about 12:30 p.m. in downtown Martin and the library has about 100 solar glasses for use.
The Dorr and Hopkins libraries are throwing a solar eclipse party at the Dorr Township Library, 1804 Sunset Drive, beginning at 1 p.m. Visitors are being asked to sign up first. by calling the Dorr Library at 616-681-9678. Free glasses will be provided. Snacks, crafts and some safe viewing practices will be reviewed.
The Henika District Library in Wayland will celebrate the solar eclipse with free glasses and moon pies from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday.. Children can create their own nebula jars and play with moon play dough. The eclipse will be live- streamed inside the library. For more information, call the library at 792-2891.
