The annual Memorial Day parade through downtown Wayland will step off at 11 a.m. Monday, May 30.
Lineup will begin at 9:30 at the Michigan State Police Post on North Main Street and proceed south to the VFW post (No. 7581) on South Main.
Monterey Township services will be at 11 a.m. next Monday at Poplar Hill Cemetery, featuring remarks by Comer Skinner.
Participating in the Monterey services will by Hopkins Boy Scouts, the Hopkins High School Band, Hopkins FFA and Wayland VFW.
The Dorr American Legion Post 127 will open at noon Memorial Day and begin serving grilled chicken dinners and barbecued pork sandwiches at 1 p.m. until gone. Kids’ games will be from 1 to 3 p.m.
The American Legion Honor Guard will be at the following cemeteries in the area at the following times on Memorial Day:
8 am – Dorr American Legion Post 127
8:30 am – Saint Stanislaus Cemetery
9:15 am – Richter Cemetery
10 am – Dorr Cemetery
10:45 am – Jones Cemetery
11:30 am – Sproat Cemetery
Noon – Dorr Park Veterans Memorial
