Public safety event in Moline will be Saturday morning

The third annual Leighton Fire Department’s public safety event will be Saturday Sept. 30, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Moline Ballfields.

Residents and children are invited to meet thei firefighters along with the Michigan State Police K-9 team, dive team and the 100th anniversary car. The sheriff’s department will be there with its K-9 team, dive team, township deputies, SWAT team and also have information on child car seats.

Other attendees will be Allegan County EOC, Victim Services, Red Cross and central dispatch.

There will be a vehicle extrication demonstration at 11 a.m. There will also be fun activities for both adults and children, including a fun firefighter agility course.
