Roman “Mike” Karpinski, age 72, died Friday, Nov. 12.
Roman grew up in Middleville and graduated in 1967. He attended Michigan Career Tech and started working at Keeler Brass as a tool and die maker (1969-2006).
Roman, who resided in Wyoming and Wayland, was very active in the deaf community, serving on the board of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services for many years. In his retirement, he worked at the Gun Lake Casino.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Pat Karpinski; mother of his children, Karen Nielsen; children Karla (Jon) Sarver, Michael (Kristyn) Karpinski; stepdaughter, Dustie (Rick) Naegele; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as many friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Paula Walters and parents, Roman and Rosalie Karpinski.
Visitation with Roman’s family and friends will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021 at Kubiak Cook Funeral Home, 312 N. Main St. Wayland. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 19, with an hour of visitation prior at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
In honor of Roman and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services.
