The Hopkins varsity softball team improved its overall season record to 17-8 Wednesday with a doubleheader sweep of Wyoming Lee.
Pitcher Hailey Burch gave up only three hits, walked none and struck out four in a 12-0 shutout in the opener. Courtney Dusseau and Mikayla Bulich both had a double for the Lady Vikings’ offensive attack.
Morgan Fifelski gave up just one hit hit, struck out eight, hit one batter and walked three in the nightcap, a 16-2 romp.
Offensively, Lexi Merren had a triple and two singles and Hannah VanDeRoovart, Kristi Lenard and Fifelski each had a double.
The Lady Vikings have not lost to any O-Silver Conference opponent this season except Calvin Christian.
