WHS volleyballThe  Wayland varsity volleyball team was runner-up in the Comstock Park Invitational Tuesday, losing in a best two-of-three contest to Kent City in the final round.

The Lady Wildcats went 4-1 for the day’s competition, bring their overall season record to 8-2-1. They defeated Sparta, Wyoming, Cedar Springs and Fremont, before bowing in the finals.

Statistically leading the Wildcats were Leigha Morse with 25 kills, 51 assists, 6 serving aces, 5 blocks, 23 digs; Taryn Coughlin, 28 kills, 5 aces, 30 digs; Abby Merice, 64 digs; Chloe Coughlin – 21 kills, and Emily Johnson, 30 digs and 6 aces.
