A motorcyclist was killed and his female passenger seriously injured in a crash Sunday night in Monterey Township.
Allegan County Sheriff’s deputies said man driving the motorcycle left the road near the intersection of 130th Avenue and 24th Street and crashed the vehicle with a drainage pipe in a roadside ditch.
First responders were summoned at about 9 p.m. Sunday. They said they believe the motorcycle was eastbound on 130th Avenue when it went off the roadway and struck the side of a drainage pipe.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and the woman airlifted to a hospital. Their names have not been yet released.
Deputies said speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.
