New record set for 24-hour contrast in temperatures

Area broadcast meteorologists Wednesday insisted a weather record was shattered between Tuesday and Wednesday in the contrast of temperatures during both days. While this art work shows a 73- to 24-degree posting, WOOD-TV’s Ellen Baca insisted it was a 50-degree difference, from 73 to 23, a 50-degree drop. Indeed, many area folks were golfing and doing other summer-like activities, and even the Wayland Middle School band students shown practicing outside the school. The following day everybody was hunkering down because of snow, wind and below freezing temps.
