Service planned for Tuesday for Mary VanEe, 96, of Dorr

Mary H. Mary H. (Bach) Vaphoto_20160514_WM0067759_0_20160514nEe, of Dorr, died Friday, May 13, the day before her 97th birthday.
Mary loved to cook and bake for people she cared for. She enjoyed reading and crafting and was a talented seamstress. Mary worked for General Motors for 26 years.
Since 1963, Mary was very involved at the Wayland VFW and the friendships she built there meant a great deal to her.
Mary is survived by her son, Paul Bach; her grandchildren, Bret (Shawna) Bach, Stacy (Pat) Fagan; her great-grandchildren, Kaia and Koa Bach, Ken Fagan; her step-daughter, Sally (Robert) Bardwell; her grandchildren, Erin (Gregory) Patrick, Shawn O’Hara, Jennifer (Sam) Kamal; her great-grandchildren, Jesse, Thomas, Ryan, and Connell O’Hara, Callie, Quinn, Aubree, and Miley Patrick, Payton and Kameron Kamal; her siblings, Patricia Dean, Louise Doxey, Louis “Snuffy” Schmidt; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Joseph Bach; her second husband, Raymond VanEe; her parents, Alois and Anna Schmidt; her brothers, Allie Schmidt, Johnny Schmidt, Edward Schmidt, Stanley Schmidt; her sisters, Adaline Striegle, Leona Meyers, Sylvia Burns.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services in Dorr, 4330 18th St. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services. Interment will be at Dorr Cemetery.
In honor of Mary, contributions may be made to VFW in Wayland Women’s Auxiliary.
