Service tech, semi driver John Arms dies of cancer

John Morris Arms, age 64 of Wayland, died Wednesday, Sept. 27. He was at home in the care of his wife, Bonnie, and daughter, Lindsey. They stayed by his side during his short illness with colon cancer.

John loved to tell stories of his younger days driving semi with his friend, Ray.

He was born Jan. 7, 1959, to Buel Sr. and Edna (Baldwin) Arms in Paintsville, Ky. He lived there until the age of seven when the family moved to Michigan for work and settled near Martin. John worked for Amerigas Propane Co. as a service tech until physical problems caused him to resign.

He is survived by wife, Bonnie; daughter, Lindsey Swinehart; stepsons James and John (Jennifer) Swinehart; grandchildren Mason (Abby) Tyla, Cameron Dallas Swinehart; nephew, Evan Arms; siblings Jerry (Deborah) Arms, Sherry Picklesimer, Renee Oldebecken; sisters-in-law Teresa Arms and Pauline Fletcher.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Buel Jr.

At family’s request, cremation has taken place. Burial in Oakhill Cemetery, Orangeville, will be announced at a later date.

    I’m gonna miss you saying…”Bonnie, it’s Amy.????Something’s in life we can’t control. I am so sorry you got sick with the “C” word. I hate that word, & the pain it put you threw.???? I truly adored you, & our friendship. I will miss you forever.
