The Wayland varsity v
olleyball team lost an O-K Gold Conference match Thursday evening against Middleville Thornapple Kellogg.
The Lady Wildcats got off to a good start, winning the first two games, 25-20 and 25-16, but then proceeded to lose the new two, 25-14 and 25-19 before being edged 15-13 in the final and decisive game.
Leading the Wildcats were Leigha Morse with 25 assists and 3 aces, Taryn Coughlin 14 kills and 5 aces, and Emily Johnson 21 digs.
The loss left the Lady Wildcats with an overall record of 11-8-1, 1-2 in conference play.
