

The Wayland boys’ varsity basketball season was concluded Monday night in the opening round of the Class B district basketball tournament at Comstock with a 58-46 loss to undefeated Otsego.
The Wildcats finished the season with an overall record of 12-9 while Otsego now is 21-0.
The Bulldogs led throughout most of the ballgame, taking lead of 17-12, 28-21 and 42-31 at the end of the first three periods.
Cory Ainsworth scored 17 points and Ternor Hudson added 15 in their last games as Wildcats. Hudson nailed five three-point field goals, but Wayland managed only a dozen field goals in the entire contest.
Charlie Woodhams dropped in 26 points to lead Otsego, which moves on to the semifinals Wednesday night.
