Robert Veldkamp, age 65, of Wayland died at his home Saturday, Jan. 21, after a yearlong battle with cancer.

Bob was born June 18, 1951, in Grand Rapids,to Bert and Rose Veldkamp who preceded him in death.  Bob served his country in the Army during Vietnam. He worked for Morrison Industrial Equipment Co. for 30 years.  Bob loved golfing, reading and Nascar races, along with watching football and baseball.

He leaves behind: wife Suzanne; daughters Tara, Alysia Veldkamp and Tracy White; step daughters Lesley (James) Goodgasell, Kristin (Troy) Engel and Tracy Iciek; 10 granddaughters and two grandsons; brothers Ken (Jane) Veldkamp and Russ (Roxanne) Veldkamp; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins along with special caretaker Hospice Nurse Makenzi.

Visitation is being planned for 10 a.m. at the Kubiak-Cook Dorr Chapel 4330 18th St. on Saturday, Jan. 28. with memorial services starting at 11 a.m. Memorials are suggested to Grace Hospice, 3355 Eagle Park Dr, NE, Suite 102, Grand Rapids, MI 49525.
