The Wayland High School debate team did collected seven trophies Saturday at its first tournament of the season at the Holt Debate Invitational.

Wayland students continued their winning season by bringing home a total of seven trophies,  placing in the top ten in both divisions, varsity and novice. Maddy Probst and Eli Merren, were first and second, respectively.

The team is very excited to take this energy into their second league meet of the year on Wednesday,” coach Andrea Brown commented.

The trophy winners in the novice and varsity divisions were:

• Novices — Carissa Yerxa, second place, and Summer Morrison third place.
