Gladys Beek, 82, of Moline, died Saturday, June 6.

Gladys was a photo_20150606_WM0040746_0_beek_photo_20150606lifelong resident of Moline and a member of the Moline Baptist Church. She retired from Lear Seigler after 38 years.

She is survived by her children: Douglas and Sandra Beek, Kimberly and Michael Slachter; her grandchildren: Heather and Ken Duff, Cheyenne Slacher, Travis Beek, Michaela Slachter, and Lexie Slachter; her five great-grandchildren; the neighborhood children who called her Grandma; her sisters: Ruth and Rev. Dewey Moore, and Hyla Wiersema; several brothers and sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Wilbert “Bud” Beek.

Friends may visit with Gladys’ family from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, at the Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services, 4330 18th St., Dorr. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 10, at the Moline Baptist Church, with Pastor Shane Vande Vrede officiating. Interment will follow at Hooker Cemetery.
