The 412 Distillery on South Main in downtown Wayland has been granted a distillery permit from the Michigan Liquor Control Commission.
Owner Anthony Winters said, “Two weeks ago we got a letter for denial and it about took the wind right out of our sails. We applied for the appeal, and today was the day that we had trial…
“We got approved. That means that possibly in as short as four to eight weeks we will be slinging mules and the Wreck of 412s.
“We can’t wait to serve you and love that you all have continued to support us during this time.”
The distillery was reopened in November 2019 after Jayda Gale went out of business. The historic building once was the site of the Beall Brothers business and later Wayland Carpet & Linolium.
