Susan Kay Bartz Arnsman died Tuesday, Feb. 21. She was 69.

Sue was so many things to so many people. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Whether it was helping with the family business, working the game dinners at St. Mary’s, coaching softball, or watching her grandkids, Sue’s dedication to her family, her church, and her community were unmatched.

She was known for her compassion, her faith, her strength, her determination, her wry sense of humor, and yes, even her stubbornness.

She leaves behind her husband of 49 years, Gerald (Jack); daughters Sarah Schulz, Stephanie (Ben) Hunderman; son, Jason Arnsman (Heather); grandchildren Tyler (Kayla), Meghan, Brady, Trent, Jack, Jay, Zabrielle, Emmitt, and Baby Arnsman; great-grandson, Tanner; sisters Sandy Portko, Carol Brink, Malita (Mark) Barnoski; brothers David (Ellen) Bartz, Mike (Sharon) Bartz; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sue was preceded in death by her beloved parents Harold and Ruby (Green) Bartz; brother, Peter Bartz; and son-in-law, Ben Schulz.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, with a Rosary beginning at 4 p.m., at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home – Dorr Chapel, 4330 18th St. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. prior to mass, at St. Mary’s Visitation, 2459 146th St., Byron Center. Internment will immediately follow the service at Visitation Cemetery, 4790 22nd St., Byron Center.
