Donna Marie Wicks, 92, of Hopkins, died Thursday, May 11, at University of Michigan West Hospital.

Born April 8, 1931, in Burnips, she was the daughter of the late Pearl W. and Emma (Strickfaden) Goodman and was the wife of the late Bruce Allan Wicks. Donna had worked for Punches Meat Market for 30 years and then enjoyed working at K-Mart for 20-plus years, finally retiring at the age of 85.

Donna appreciated having beautiful flowers in her home and garden and visiting with family and friends. She often spent her time coloring and doing crossword and word search puzzles.

She is survived by her sons, Timothy (Anna) Wicks and Terry (Shelly) Wicks; sister, Ethel Warren; grandchildren, Nicholas Wicks (Becca Snide), Jessica Wicks (Nick Donaldson), Kenneth Glascott (Denee O’Neill-Oestrike) and Kendera (Chris) Poll; and great-grandchildren, Wesley, Sawyer, Evelyn, Avery, Deklyn, Knox, Hunter and Ty.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Donna was preceded in death by her three brothers and four sisters.

The family will receive friends at Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, May 19, with a memorial service beginning at 11 a.m. Graveside to follow service at Maplewood Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the hospice of one’s choice.
