Funeral Tuesday for Eleanor Milhiem, 92

Eleanor Mae (Clawson) Milhiem died Friday, April 4. She was 92.

She was born at home in Hopkins, on July 26, 1932, to Leonard and Sophia (Nowakowski) Clawson. She married Kenneth Milhiem Jr. and shared more than 62 faithful years of marriage together.

Eleanor loved golfing, playing bingo, crocheting, and social hours at Village Inn during breakfast time. She was a loyal supporter of her grandchildren in all of their sporting events. Eleanor also cherished her daily phone call visits with her best friend, Dorothy Wilson, until her passing last year.

She is survived by her children Keith Milhiem, Bruce (Sharon) Milhiem, and Christine Milhiem; siblings Norma Wright and Delores Harris; grandchildren Brent (Cari) Milhiem, and Amber Venderville; great-grandchildren Addison Milhiem, Caden Milhiem, Lucas Milhiem, Kennadi Milhiem and Elliott Vendeville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Sophia (Nowakowski) Clawson; siblings Raymond Clawson and Irene Davis; best friend Dorothy Wilson; dog Princess and cat Lola.

Eleanor’s funeral will be at noon Tuesday, April 8, with an hour visitation beforehand at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, 528 Trowbridge St., Allegan. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to either Wings of Hope Hospice Allegan.
