The Yankee Springs Township Fire Department has issued a formal announcement that burning fires are prohibited because of the recent spate of drought conditions. Meterologists do not expect any rain until next week and Saturday’s forecast predicts a high of 86 degrees. Residents in northeast Allegan County are advised to act accordingly.
