The Wayland High School girls’ basketball team recorded its fifth straight victory this season without a loss by besting visiting Byron Center 55-35.
It was a non-league contest that propelled the Wildcats’ overall season record to 5-0. Byron Center, a Division 1 school, now is 1-4.
Senior pivot Addie Sikorski dropped in 18 points and junior guard Marissa Ainsworth added 13. Jordan Grevenstuk counted seven points, including a three, senior Dacey Schaefer swished a couple of threes for six points. Ainsworth collected three threes and Sikorski had one.
The Lady Wildcats will get a rest until Friday, Jan. 6, against Wyoming, after they return from the Christmas and New Year’s break.
