It was a sweet rain that invaded the northeast section of Allegan County Sunday afternoon and evening, as a reported three-quarters of an inch of the wet stuff fell on a horribly dry terrain. This area had not seen any significant amount of rain since the beginning of April in the worst spring drought many can remember. The streets were full of puddles, but only for a brief spell. Virtually everyone welcomed the change from the disturbing pattern of dryness and lack of moisture.
