Add Homemade Crockpot Applesauce to any meal

by Kathy Hamman Miller

Crockpot Cinnamon Applesauce is super easy to make in your slow cooker. This is the perfect addition to any meal.

Ingredients:

5 pound bag of apples – we like to use the delicious variety of apples for a chunkier version.

1/2 cup sugar (brown or white)

Start out with 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, add more if desired. I’ve also played around with nutmeg and pumpkin pie spice. Always start out small.

1/2 cup of water

Instructions:

Place the peeled, sliced apples into the bowl of your crockpot. Sprinkle the apples with the sugar and cinnamon, mix well. Pour the water in and place the lid on top. Cook over high heat for four hours.

Stir occasionally sampling to see if you’d like to add any more sugar or spice. My family likes it with less sugar so I start out small and get to the flavor we like while cooking down to the consistency you desire. This applesauce tastes delicious warm!
