All three local public school districts will receive extra money Monday from the Educator Compensation Fund, which was included in the Michigan budget for 2023-24.

The state budget allocated $63.8 million to increase educator compensation in this cycle. The money is intended to be a one-time gift that will be part of the customary state aid payments issue Jan. 21.

Hopkins is scheduled to receive an extra $66.626.60, Martin $28,281.96 and Wayland $126,742.41.

Wayland’s total is the second highest in Allegan County, with Hamilton coming in at $133,067.28.
