Allegan County continues to do strikingly well in avoiding serious consequences from the Coronavirus.

The death toll of seven is just one more than a month ago and the figure had been stuck at six a month before that.

Since the pandemic arrived in Michigan in mid-March, the Allegan County Health Department has reported 408 positive cases of COVID-19 and the recovery of exactly 300 patients.

This is contrast with neighboring Kent County, which has been among the state’s hot spots in cases. Michigan has more than 6,100 deaths attributed to the Coronavirus since March 12.
