The Allegan County Health Department Friday announced the county has had 19 deaths as a sult of the Coronavirus pandemic that began last March.

That number is three more than what was reported Tuesday.

A total of 3,219 cases has been reported, with 98 patients now being hospitalized. A total of 1,227 has been recorded as recovered.

The Covid-19 crisis has gotten particularly severe in the Upper Midwest. Besides Michigan there have been spikes in North and South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska and Wisconsin.

Local high schools will continue be on-line only until at least Tuesday, Dec. 8. Elementaries and junior high schools will continue to operate on the hybrid model, except for Martin, which is in-person five days a week.
