The Allegan County Health Department reported 116 cases of county residents testing positive for the COVID-19 Coronavirus as of this morning, Tuesday, May 5. There still are two reports of deaths as a result of the disease.

MLive reporter Julie Mack, in an enterprise piece published Tuesday, wrote, “Kent County has been one place that has seen a big jump of cases in recent weeks, from 354 on April 15 to 1,854 on Monday, May 4.”

Mack also reported that the JBS meat packing plant in Plainwell has had 86 workers testing positive, but some of those workers are residents of Kent, Kalamazoo, Ottawa and Barry counties.
