
Wayland Middle School Assistant Principal Andrew Augustin has been promoted to Dorr Elementary Principal, succeeding Robin Seniura, who is retiring in June.
Augustin has been with the Wayland Union staff since 2021. He received his bachelor’s degree in secondary education from GVSU, his master’s degree in curriculum and educational technology from Ball State University, and his master’s in educational leadership from Central Michigan University. Augustin has worked as an assistant principal , a secondary English teacher and a coach for various sports.
Augustin cames to Wayland from Thornapple Kellogg, where he taught English language arts and history for one year and was an assistant principal for another. He taught sixth- and seventh-grade English at Plainwell for four years and was a principal intern.He has three years of experience teaching English for grades 8 to 10 at Edwardsburg.
Seniura has worked in the Wayland system since 1988. She earned her bachelor’s degree in child development in 1985 from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in school administration from MSU in 1992. She began her teaching career at Mason Public Schools.
During her career at Wayland she taught first, third and fourth grades, as well as kindergarten in the summer. She was assistant principal for four and a half years. She was elevated to principal in 2020.
