Firefighters honor mothers, birthday of 10-year-old boy

Local fire departments seem to have taken on a new calling during during the Coronavirus pandemic. Because so many people are quarantined to their homes, firefighters are honoring requests for them to parade past their homes or facilities with well wishes. On Friday, the Wayland and Yankee Springs departments switched on their horns sirens and sent greetings to residents at the Green Acres Assisted Living facility to honor mothers for Mother’s Day two days afterward.. Later that day the firefighters paraded past the home of a boy celebrating his 10th birthday in Leighton Township.
