Why is our government inviting, President Joe Biden stating in 2019, “We can absorb two million asylum seekers in a heartbeat,” even allowing millions of people into our nation with little or no vetting or screening?
Why are we processing millions at the southern border and giving many a court date for review of their case in up to 10 years? Why are we providing phones, debit cards, in Michigan up to $6,000 for rent, and swag bags of free stuff then transporting them free of charge to a city or state of their choice?
It is a good question, as is why we are working with Mexican criminal organizations to facilitate “asylum seekers” providing phone applications that tell people how to enter our nation, what to say and what to do?
Why did President Biden pledge a 100-day moratorium on deportations after taking office? Why did President Biden promise to protect “sanctuary cities” from federal law?
A few good questions, questions the media will not ask, as in the politically correct world of the cancel culture they do not wish to, want to, or are scared to.
Our President said we must allow immigrants into our nation because that is who we are, a nation of immigrants. We have not allowed unfettered access into our nation in the last 147 years, but who cares? We need to have millions of immigrants, however we need to ask why suddenly we need, indeed must have millions of migrants, a politically incorrect question that is not asked?
One theory that has been shouted down in the new public square, social media, as dreaded far right, Nazi, Fascist, racist, sexist, anti LBGTQA++ tinfoil hat conspiracy is that with the blue states (mostly sanctuary states) are losing population, which equals power and seats in the House of Representatives and its number of electoral college votes, the influx of “migrants” will count toward future allocation of seats in the house. The Democrats win the popular vote in many elections, but lose the electoral college as their power in blue states is waning with white flight from blue states to red states.
Folks are moving out of the progressive bastions of California and New York (indeed Texas is the second most populous state, not New York) and New England states, and west coast states the loss of population results in the loss of seats in the House of Representatives equating to fewer electoral college votes.
We may not be allowed to ponder the why of illegal migration as the rationale of allowing millions of unskilled, uneducated, mostly unvetted folks into our nation may not be questioned in the social media culture of Tick Toc, Facebook and other sites.
Sanctuary states and cities now are asking for federal funding to help them provide for migrants, it is like you inviting folks to live in your home then requiring your neighbors to pay for them.
The mayor of New York City greeting migrants at bus stops shaking their hand and giving them debit cards at least in the early part of the migration explosion is an example of progressives desire to attract millions to their cities.
Michigan is not a sanctuary state, but we have sanctuary counties and cities, Kent County being among them. It has been discussed in the state legislature that we provide funding for the four counties and one city that made themselves voluntarily sanctuaries. The discussion is still in the early talking phase however the next election may change that.
Is there open proof the progressives got together in a room and decided to manufacture the migration crisis or explosion? Not absolute proof that this column can find, but the question remains as to why we have expedited, and encouraged 8 to 11 million plus migrants to enter our nation after President Biden’s election?
President Biden announced during his inaugural speech we would open our border to “those who are oppressed” in their nation, so come on down, or up. Actions have proven our legal system will not adjudicate your case for two to ten years, so you are welcome until then, no questions asked.
The progressives will repeat the mantra that it is all the Republicans’ fault as they are blocking billions of dollars for “processing migrants,” ask yourself why the borders were much more secure under President Trump, without billions of additional funds?
A question our media will not ask. My opinion.
