“Bud lighted” has become a term for doing something unenlightened in business. Sales of Bud Light took a nosedive when they went woke (a term that has come to mean awaken or socially aware), using a transgender person as a poster person for the beverage.
However, the progressive movement rationalized it as a reaction from a “few” knuckle-dragging neanderthal beer drinkers; racists, Nazis, homophobes, people not to be taken seriously.
Well, the election showed that the DEI crowd was not most of our nation; they simply did not learn from Bud Light’s action. DEI is not what the American people want; we want equal opportunity, not equal outcome.
Give all people, regardless of race, religion, sex, or nation of origin, an equal chance for a promotion, position or appointment, not a guarantee, simply because of a belief in social justice, whatever in the world that even is. To discriminate against one group in the name of ending discrimination is like a prostitute working their trade to gain virginity.
The American progressive movement has shown itself to be more dedicated to the Democrats than the concepts of woke. Electric vehicles are the holy grail of the woke religion, but many Democrats are now advocating the vandalizing, shooting up and firebombing of Tesla electric vehicle owners and dealers and the formerly sacred charging stations, simply because Tesla is directed by a person they do not approve of. Elon Musk, the owner of Tesla, is a person who is not properly devoted to woke, indeed, a person who supports President Donald Trump.
Like President Trump or not (I do), he has changed the very foundations of American politics; the right is against free unfettered trade and the left is against protective tariffs. The left, which was a party that catered to the labor movement, wanted tariffs to protect American jobs, and the right wanted free trade to further capitalism.

The left was previously outspent by the rich donating millions to the right, but now the left is outspending the right by a wide margin and receiving millions from the rich and powerful.
Now the left will tell us they have hundreds of thousands of individual donors; however, it takes 20,000 individual donors donating $50. to make a million. The Democrats received in excess of $1 billion (many reports say it was $1.3 billion), the vast majority from the corner of Wall and Broad Street in New York and the nouveaux riche in the Silicon Valley of California.
The “new billionaires” obtain their money by making electronics in China, India, Vietnam and Taiwan. Products manufactured in those nations are vastly more profitable than products produced in our nation; tariffs will increase costs for you and me, no doubt about it, but they will strengthen our nation’s economy in the long run.
The tariffs are short term pain for long term gain. We have been on a spending spree for many years, spending at an unsustainable level, much of it payment to woke organizations for their support, and “woke industries” who close plants in our nation while opening them in Asia and Africa to the delight of the progressive movement.
Progressives tell themselves they are saving the planet by closing industries; they will tell us they are the smart enlightened ones who care about the planet, only to see millions of gallons of fossil fuel burned to ship and fly goods to our nation and see vastly more pollution in manufacturing on the Asian and African continents.
The woke progressives champion the practice of stopping drilling for oil in the United States, but say nothing about shipping oil, burning millions of gallons of fossil fuel from Venezuela and the Mideast. Shipping oil by pipeline in our nation is a danger to the environment, but it is not from Canada, Canada which has placed punishing tariffs on American products. The left is mute on Canada cutting millions of trees for lumber and selling it to us, but glue themselves to trees to save the world and our nation.
We are a rich nation, thus we must be punished and the other nations rewarded, woke economics at work. If poor nations place tariffs on American products, it is fair; if we reciprocate, we are oppressors and vile capitalists. My opinion.
