Avid bird watcher Tom Vincent dies at age 81

Thomas “Tom” Eugene Vincent, age 81, died Wednesday, June 4.

Tom was an avid birdwatcher. His dream was to eventually travel to Florida to spot the Painted Bunting. He loved watching the many birds at the feeders outside of his window and would look up each type in his “Birds of Michigan” book.

Tom was also very sociable. He loved to tell stories about his life to anybody who would listen (he would often add many exaggerations and embellishments to keep the listener engaged). He was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord with all his heart and shared his faith with everyone. He will be deeply missed.

Tom is survived by his son, Rick (Sherrie) Vincent; sisters Victoria Ingersoll and Patty James; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Geraldine Vincent.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. In memory of Tom and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Heart Association.
