Ransom “Randy” Heth, Jr., 62 of Wayland, died March 31 while holding warm hands together with his compassionate sister, Juella “Julie” (Charles) Heth-Lindey.

Ransom, son of the late Ransom “Randy” and Juanita “Nita” (Standish) Heth, Sr.,  died of a massive heart attack. He could not feel it because of his paralysis from the chest down.

Ransom was a proud American Biker/Triker. Paralyzed from the chest down, a T-5 paraplegic for 40 years because a motorcycle crash June 16, 1979. Always “Able-Caped”, he kept busy with custom woodworking, master gunsmith, Rag Black Shadow German Shepards, Designer and inventor of wheelchair accessible gadgets, furniture, “The Wheelbinet”, and especially building three- and five-wheeled trikes for himself and other disabled Americans, Bikers and Trikers through the P.W.F. Paralyzed “Wheels” Foundation. Ransom and “Bad to the Bone” was featured in Easy Rider Magazine Hall of Fame in 1988, Also, his father, Ransom Sr. was a Hill Climber Champion with his Harley in 1968.

He raised, trained and showed about 200 Black German Shepard guard and service dogs for other people in need of a newbest friend.

Ransom is survived by several family and friends. His sister, Juella “Julie” (Charles) Heth-Lindsey; nephew, Zachary; nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles and special friends, Alayna, Dynell, Mary, Brian, Kayla S; Ransom’s Hero, Orland “Butch” Smith and family; Dick S, Richie S, Kim C, Joe C, Randy H. Raymond Y.

Ransom was preceded in death by his parents, Ransom “Randy” 1977 and Juanita “Nita” 2011 (Standish) Heth, Sr; sister, Linda Sue Heth 1960; brother-in-law, Charles 2018 (Juella “Julie” Heth) Lindsey; grandparents, RD and Eliza Standish; Charles and Louise Heth; Aunt Bertha (Edward) Miner; several other family, friends; andall of Ransom’s Black Shadow German Shepard guard dogs, Lucy, Harley, Shadow, Bear, Luke, and Andray, just to name a few.

To honor Ransom’s wishes, cremation has taken place. No memorial service per his request and contributions may be made to Wayland Ambulance Service in Ransom’s memory. Interment in Elmwood Cemetery, Wayland, in June 2019.
